Watch for pressure and unexplained payments

Be cautious if someone asks for an upfront payment to secure work, buy equipment from a specified seller or unlock an application. Pressure to act immediately can make it harder to check the details. A message using a real company’s name may still be an impersonation.

Check through a separate route

Look up the organisation independently rather than relying only on links supplied in a message. Use a verified website or established contact route to ask whether the person and opportunity are genuine. A registered business name alone does not prove that a particular sender represents it.

Do not assume a social profile is official because its logo matches. Use only the contact options provided on the Rolefolk website.

Protect what you send

For an initial Rolefolk enquiry, a city or postcode area and basic work preferences are enough. Do not send a passport, bank information or National Insurance number to start the conversation. A later legitimate process may need further checks, but first establish who is requesting the information, why and through which secure route.

If you are worried about a message

Stop and keep a record of the message and sender details. If money has been sent, contact your bank promptly. Use the official Report Fraud recruitment-scam guidance for current reporting information. Do not send further money to recover an earlier payment.
